Wireless Field Engineer

Summary

Builds relationships with clients; works with clients on tasks defined by Technical Service Manager

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team on large scale wireless site surveys
  • Collect and analyze daily survey data in the field, ensuring that the RF survey requirements are being met
  • Author full site survey reports based on survey data using Visio and Microsoft Word & Adobe Acrobat
  • Interact with customers IT teams daily – requires strong communication skills
  • Monitor ongoing progress and make recommendations for improvement in efficiency.
  • Communicates with Sales Support Representatives and Operations team to check on progress of existing orders and projects.
  • Track time involvement in project for billable hours.
  • Works with Technical Services Manager to create strategic plans for training.
  • Creates documentation for Customer and follows up with Customer and Sales Team for turnover of documentation
  • Demonstrates and actively promotes an understanding and commitment to the mission of CTC Tech through performing behaviors consistent with the organization’s values.
  • Supports and conducts self in a manner consistent with client service expectations.

Education/Experience/Technical Requirements/Certifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, management disciplines, or related field.

 

Experience / Technical Requirements:

Must have: Experience with Site Survey software Ekahau or AirMagnet

  • Understanding requirements for WiFi site surveys and documentation
  • Understanding of VoWiFi, Location Tracking
  • Understanding of WLC and Access point models WLAN Controller configuration and tuning
  • Meraki AP configuration and tuning
  • Strong documentation skills using Microsoft Visio, Word, and Excel
  • Routing Protocols – OSPF, EIGRP, BGP L2 / L3
  • Architecture and Design Spanning Tree Protocol VSS, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP

May consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Cisco Route/Switch/Wireless certifications a plus
  • Scissor and/or Boom Lift Experience
  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written presentation abilities.
  • Strong client interaction skills.
  • Possess high degree of self-motivation and drive.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
